Can anyone provide any information as to what are the recommended tyre pressures when towing a caravan with a 1996 Mistral 2.7td lwb

I Dont know what the manufacturers spec is !, I usualy run my mistral at 29psi allround, but pulling my caravan 29 front and 32 rear ,,,(BF Goodridge A/Ts 215/75/15)

Hope this helps

Thanks for the threads camerman but there are so many opinions its a toss up what to use for the best.

My reply to camerman did not contain any swearing and the admin anti swearing bit interupted my reply, I just want you to know for information that automatic swearing protection doesnt always work.

As per all the other threads, the pressures depend on...
The weather and type of surface to a small extent.
Vehicle type, SWB, LWB
Tyre Size, most critical.
Nose weight of caravan to a small extent. I run with 70-100kg
If the trailer/Caravan has 4 wheels, ie if the road is uneven the weight on the hitch increases if the front wheels on the trailer leave the road.
I have a 4 wheeled boat trailer, approx 2 tonne and I run with 26psi front 35psi rear on 235 75 R15 no stabiliser and no problems so far !
A boat is more streamlined and with 23 feet in length, (26 feet inc trailer) tows as straight as a weather vane.

Uladen she runs at 26psi front, 30psi rear although I think this is too high as it's wearing the centres on the rear.
Tyre presures also depend on the manufacturer as well , some tyres are quite stiff.
Post your tyre size and maybe someone can help.

And if you are caravaning in this weather... you may be better off with a boat anyway..

best regards,
Rustic

On mine there is a sticker showing the car with three people in the rear I go by that, I tow a lunar Quasar twin axle with three teenagers in the back all the way to Italy (just got back with out the Terrano it's in S/E Switzerland  ). In a Town called Samedan Nr St Moritz

When towing I tend to ignore the fact that I am towing and go on the load in the vehicle. Hitch loading when static is only about the same as 1 - 2 people in the back but it is transient, sometimes greater under braking sometimes less (even negative) under acceleration. Perhaps increase the rear pressure a bit but not as much as treating them as a fully loaded vehicle, unless the vehicle is fully loaded too.
