is it possible to add a second turbo to an 04 navara 2.5td

I would think it's poss but it would cost a bomb as it would all have to be custom made & the end power out put prob wouldn't be worth it  It would be easier to fit a larger turbo but then you will prob start suffering from turbo lag

What he said.

Someone like turbo technics might be able to do you a hybrid turbo that could provide more boost without too much lag, until you've exhausted the potential of the current set up though it would be an expensive wase of money. Free-er flowing intake and higher boost combined with a front mounted intercooler and a custom remap would see a more usable power increase for less money.

On an engine that blows readily???

Have you done the bearing and con rod bolt mod? If not I wouldent even put a chip on it.

I have blanked the EGR and put on a full freeflow exaust, this helped greatly and certainly made driving 'easyer' next is to decat it.

yeah true mate, its a d22. i had it chipped from 134hp to 163hp. from what everyone has said another turbo might be a waste of time and money....bit of a pipe dream. i could just do with more power, and find ways to get it. a custom exhaust might help...you mentioned decat, i thought that was illegal after 1991?[/quote]

how similiar is the 2.5 to that in latest nav and pathfinder.

just thinking that makes 174 bhp as it leaves factory...

seems pretty good power to cc ratio already for a td, looking
back 20 years and cosworth squeezed 200 bhp out of the 2 litre
petrol pinto lump which was pretty impressive at time even with
16 valves, a turbo and injection. technology certainly moves on...

A performance exhaust will give you a few extra bhp & would go for a stainless steel one as it'll be more cost effective in the long run, you can get perfomance cat's or you could just have a link pipe made up so you can refit your cat for the mot  If your truck spends all it's time on tarmac then you could go for an induction kit with a cold air feed pipe running from the front grill to just infront of the induction kit, but you would have to be carefull on flooded roads as you would run a higher chance of sucking in water. If you do take it off road or go through deep water then I would fit a performance panel filter to replace the standard one in the air box.

its a 2004 so it comes out of the factory with 134hp. luckily i had a mate who works for Chipped UK so managed to get something done there, i think they remapped the ecu. i got an extra 29hp and 90ft-lb. at the moment it does spend most of the time on tarmac so an induction kit might be a good idea, theres one called a Powertec SL1X which has an 8" cone and cold air feed, if anyone could cast an eye over it any let me know what they think.

It looks fine to me  being stainless steel instead of cotton or foam like K&N & Pipercross the induction sound I would think will be quiet a bit louder

Not as far as I am aware. As long as the vehicle passes the emissions level for the year of manufacture you would be fine. The problems comes if, of course, it doesn't? A lot of the time CAT's were fitted to comply with emission reductions and poorer quality fuels than we have. So you may get away with it or.................have it removed in such a way that you can pop it back in for the MOT or fit a free'er flowing option-as mentioned by Sweety

Why not just buy a bigger motor
Really not matter what you do there will never be enough power

I mean a real man wants power and has a instinct to keep on making things bigger and more powerful no matter what it is

More Power !!!!! 8O
