HI Guys,

as my car hasnt been used much lately, I wanted to give it a bit of a boost engine wise. I dont have a point of reference, but it feels like it could do with a boost. I got some 10k boost, and it says to apply directly to the turbo air intake.....wheres that then? I assume they dont mean spray it into the intercooler, do they mean take that off, and spray into one of the two "inlets" either side?? As we have MAF's, it says I have to go beyond that, so that is another option.....what you think??

What is it Clivvy? is it some kind of aerosol like the old Easy Start stuff?

hey Jim, no, its a can of greasy spray stuff. It has to go in via air intakes etc, not via the fuel system. I have known about it for years, but never used it. I always knew it as de-coking, and apparently its just simply a cleaning agent for the system, chucks out all the crap and cleans the injectors etc (I think). Although I am not having any specific issues, I just wanted to give it a go so that I know its all clean, you see getting into the Mav from my MX6 ther eis a HUGE difference in power, and I reckon my Mav should have more, and be a touch more responsive.

this is the stuff:

it sounds like a decoke in a can, same as redex, put some in tank, remember when you went to the garage and said £1.00 and a shot, memories. :augie:thumbs

cheers matey, I just went out for a look at my air filter, and realised that after the maf there is a clip I can undo to seperate that part, so will do that!

that is a decoke in a can, it's the same principle as redex, warm engine, rev and spray half can into inlet, leave and spray the rest in, excactly what you do with redex treatment, it removes any build up of carbon. it will seem better but not for long,:thumb2l

hmm...but not for long?

I remember using a "decoke in a can" product about 30 years ago. I don't, though, remember it doing anything useful.

Most diesels that have done a few miles will benefit from injector cleaner. A couple of cans of Coma Diesel Magic will make it as bit more sprightly. The Forte injector cleaner also worked for me - picked up some cans on Fleabay, but not cheap
