Tuning Boxes

I have been thinking of buying a tuning box for my Patrol, has anyone here fitted one and do you reckon its worth the money.
I have seen them on ebay ranging from £99-£400.
I had one in my bmw 320d and to be honest the difference was slight but just wondered if there would be any noticable difference in my 2.8 129bhp Patrol.

i'm not sure about the Patrol, but i have read people get very excited with their tuning boxes when fitted to terrano..cant be much difference between the cars?? gotta be someone whos fitted one to a patrol...

They make one hell of a difference for general driveability. I had a psi in my Terrano and it was excellent.

One word of warning though, declare it to your insurance company. Some arent bothered and will insure the vehicle with any engine mod up to a certain declared or calculated bhp (seem to remember one I got quoted via a broker was up to 200bhp) , others will charge you a fortune for the joy , others wont touch you.

You may feel you can get away with it but however well you hide it an insurance inspector or crash investigator will find it, its on the "standard list" of things to look at for many of them and thats straight from the horses mouth

never had one on a patrol but had a few from dtuk and they were all very very good.

had them on a bmw a jag and a vectra one on vectra was the best ended up a beast when booting it and extra 100 miles to a full tank when eco driving
