Im going to build a false floor in the back of my troll with sliding storage compartments. Ive removed the 3rd row of seats and intend to make the false floor approx 10 inches high so when the rear seats are folded down it will be same height. it will need to be strong to carry extra weight on top of it.
Has any body already done something like this or have any ideas of best materials to use it will need to be as cheap as poss and it will also need to be fixed in place some how.
Any ideas or pics will be greatly appreciated, thanx:thumb2

done similar to a t2 . i'll put link to pics up later :thumb2

osb board is what you want

thats neat, did you fix it in place so it cant jump about for example when offroading:thumb2

hey it works for a night or 2 . i wasn't planning on moving in it....... despite what my ex wife might prefer.

stuck the base board down with silicone. it wont be coming up . other board screwed to the seats so it permanent and still moves around to give seats when needed

It's ok titch, are you going for the net curtains next or verical louvre blinds :augie

anyway, i like the removable base idea, dose this make the backs fold down flater? I might do that myself :thumb2

Looks good mate..

needs a few words on how adn what you did , batty can make a download for others to follw / chage to there own needs..

have a look for build up of the long way down trolls, think frog island did them.

there shelf was tough as recall the image shows a substantial 'suitcase' genny
at there amongst the rest of their gear.

any idea if the 3rd fold up seats can be easily removed as i find could use more
boot space on hol when 5 seats is enough, on the t2 it folded up against middle
row and then could be removed completely.

The 3rd row anchor points look similar to terano ones but i had to un bolt from floor as they dont have quick release catches (y60 not sure about y61).
Ive had alook today and think i may be able to use these anchor points and 3rd row seat belt anchor points to bolt storage system in place

This is what i intend to build but without optional engine on top

plenty of ideas for you ... what is the actual purpose of your build . is it just to make a flat are in the back . or do you need specific storage spaces .
i looked into setting a gas stove in mine , but space was not high enough . would have been worth the extra effort in hindsight .

It will be for all the usual reasons, safety and security of load. I keep various recovery gear in the back (tow rope straight bar, jump leads etc) Dont want it all flying about if i go off road. It will also give me more storage area with false floor like u said large flat load area.
Me and missus could also sleep in back when out camping too:augie:lol
As you can see in pic even with shallow drawers its surprising what you can fit in them
