Front and rear difs use different oil dont they ?

Rear has a LSD front doesnt ?

Manual states the front diff takes 1.3 litres of standard API GL-5
rear diff takes 2.8 litres of LSD gear oil API GL-5 AND SAE 80W-90

I think ronypony is right you need LSD oil for the rear diff!

I am trying to find the best product for the transfer box. Both diffs are OK.

Found the answer to my problem--dip you finger in the top up hole- if the oil is pink or shades of its DEXRON , if oil coloured its GL4 . have replaced it with GL4 . All running nicde and smooth even with lsd in front diff. Thanks.

i put synthetic gear oil in trans box, and a mix of ep90 and synthetic in main g/box, and synthetic gear oil in front diff , this combo i reckon gives less drag in cold winter conditions
and better mpg
