Transfer Box Noise

Has anybody experienced this? Having had to brake hard from speed in my D22 I now seem to have a knocking noise from the transfer box, I am struggling to make the connection, Anybody any experience of similar?

Has one of the rubber mounts broke? Could have perished with age then broke, or split a little and is knocking due to movement. My suzuki did exactly that and I thought the gearbox was gonna come through the floor! This was obvious though because the selector stick was moving also
