Torsion bars first?

Despite having my tracking (basic check no chamber of castor) checked about four months ago the inner edge of both front tyres is now totally smooth.

So before I have a more extensive check done should I raise the front? It is noticeably lower than the rear. I take it that raising the front will pull in the bottoms of the wheels so reducing this inner edge wear?

Any number of things can cause the wear.
Worn upper ball joints did mine.

Mmmmm not easy this one, are they the same tyres before and after the tracking? if so there may be nothing wrong, once a tyre wears badly then it is doomed, no amount of mechanical adjustments will sort it, the worn inner edges need to go round quicker to keep up with the larger main tread diameter but of course this is not possible so they scrub themselves out very quickly, in the early stages you could have put the fronts on the rear and over inflated a bit to keep the worn edge off the road but this only work if the wear is slight, Rick

Noted on all counts and thank you both. The car has only done 57k miles so I would have hoped that there was little ball joint wear. However the front certainly has sagged on the torsion bars. I will attempt raising it tomorrow but from the look of the adjusters I may well have to reset them.

Quick update, raised the front by just over an inch each side yesterday without needing to reset the torsion bars. Very little difference between front and rear wheel arch height now. Car drives a lot better feeling far more responsive and no more squealing as I corner. I will give it a day to settle then readjust if required then get the tracking done and tyres replaced.
