Well after chewing through tyres for about 2 years, and numerous alignments and equally disappointing continued tyre wear, I've just adjusted the torsion bars, and raised the hub to wheel arch measurement from 15.5" to 18.5 " checked it with the camber meter and have a negative camber of .5 on the passenger side and a positive camber of .8 on the other which is a huge improvement far from perfect but at least my tyres might last longer than 4 months on the front this time and I can always tweak the bars to get closer to perfection... I measured the bolt length above the 2nd lock nut to get them both the same, although this doesn't allow for weaker torsion bars, it did allow me to get drivers side to 18.5" and passenger side to 18.2" I will no doubt fiddle until they are both the same

anyway the acid test was to take it over the humpback bridge at about 35mph previously it would bottom out at the front.... not any more !!! I've got the bounce back in the front again !!!

Will have to tell the wife otherwise she will probably end up parking it in a field knowing her

thanks guys saved me a bloody fortune..... ohhh and I've also fixed the heating 1 speed fan back to a 4 speed fan with a dab of solder on the blown track on the resistor pack ...

anyway it's going in on Monday for it's MOT new exhaust and two new front tyres so I can keep an eye on the wear.... but it's looking good so far

thanks again :)

Glad you got sorted

I hate torsion bars with a passion

Update

Well the T2 passed it's MOT just had a bulb out on the back number plate, and they decided to let it go on the bump stop if I promised to stick it back on at some point...

all told it cost me £542 !!! :(

that's 4 A/T tyres @ 265/70/15's and middle and end exhaust, and tracking done because after jacking up the torsion bars the tracking was WAY WAY out !!! :)

but it's done now for another year.... just have to take an sharp intake of breath for the road tax due the end of this month

thanks for all the tips on this site, shame you don't do free tyres and exhausts though ;¬)
