I had a busy day on my truck yesterday.
I was up as soon as my eyes were open so I could go and get the usual shopping chores n stuff out the way and was all done for 10.30 ish.
Time for a brew and relax knowing the rest of the day was dedicated to my truck.
my priority job is to get the chasis protected.
got the back end up and had most the day on preping it and protecting it.
Ive done about a third of it.
I can find a full weeks work under my truck to get it the way I want it.
while I was on that job I decided to take the side steps off for easier access.
And I am thinking I dont need them really there just bling.
and even though I dont use them to climb aboard, the flipping thing already seems twice as high off the ground.
I think I need to invest in an arc welder and use the old steps as a template to knock up some scaffolding poles fixed to the old bold holes.
I decided to seal my beloveds undercarrage with hamerite smooth satin.
with 8 years protection (it says on the tin)
I still need something to spray inside all he chassis holes though.

I don't have the step peice just the bit of pole & they work very well as rock & tree sliders :thumb2

Er what sort of rocks you go over, plastic ones, these side steps have very little strength for that sort of thing, in fact I think they are totally useless for such as the chassis is a lot lower, Rick

mine sit same level as chassis & connected to it so no good for chassis protection & made from stainless steel tube :nenau they were on it when i got it & have worked well so far

Best read the thread mate. They were about 50 quid I got them done by the blacksmith as he has a huge folding machine and made them to my sized template. Cost a little more than box but looked better to me.
They are a complete sill replacement. All welded in. Makes the shell super strong .
Not an easy job to cut out all the old crap sills but you will be amazed at what goes on inside the car's sills

Im going to get my mate on that one!
Im not flush by any standards but I would pay good money to have that done to my truck.

We'd do it for you if you were closer.
Can you see the template pic on the thread? I'm pretty sure it's sized so you could make up the section easily. The time goes in vehicle prep and welding it all in. Interior needs a full strip down to avoid cable melting and trim fires etc :lol
If you off road like me there's NO alternative. Any bolt on ones will bend and still twat your sill , if drop in on a rock from any height.
Most T2 sills a rotten anyway so this will sort that too :thumbs
