Was out today with some lads, all had discos apart from an 89 defender

The lad in the defender paid £1800 for what I can only describe as a knacker :(

It had the pre 200tdi version of an engine which is td but about 80bhp but this think was fkd smoking its bag off. He had just put 2" lift on cranked arms +5 shocks and dislocation cones, now it had serious articulation BUT we went up monsal and its batterd now, we had to stop several times as mx bikes were getting off and pushing in front due to state of the rocky rutted lane, so it was a restart, I just did a hill start, bit of slippage but off she went, this defender was bouncing all iver the place struggling for grip...

My point is, WHY THE FK do people pay near £2k and more for a massively fkd pile of scrap from landrover when you can get a 10 year old just run in mint jap motor ? And also these Landys with stupid articulation are still no better than a half decent Jap motor when it comes down to it in my experiance

Not all about the articulation clearly, Look at the transfer/gearbox clearance of a defender compared to most trucks.

But yes those 2.5 n/a engines are crap.

With landrovers, you're just paying for a name, doesn't necessarily mean its a better vehicle, people just get sucked in with brand loyalty:rolleyes:

The blue 110 is a better weapon tbf, they seem to be much more heavy duty and its far from standard

like the looks of that but only cos its got banks most of the way, but i'd still be saying "oh s**t, oh s**t, oh s**t" all the way along :thumb2

That looked amazing :clap... reckon the Troll would have had to breath in a bit to fit through though!

Think a winch bumpers definitely my next priority... just to make space for her ample waistline! :augie
