Hi all
When I got my Mistral there was only one fob with it and the alarm was set up to lock when you put the key in, I was a bit worried that I might lock myself out one day so had another key cut :) but..... what if the alarm fob stopped working, then I was well and truly scre**** ! so looked in the tinterweb and found a very nice man from Leeds who came over to where I work, around 30 miles, found the main control box, got the pin code, took the annoying locking off, delivered a brand new Toad fob, all for £55! the fob alone cost £35 and his fuel must have been the best part of £12. Not a bad deal I don't think. he was pleasant and really helpful, so here's his name and website if anyone needs a great bit of customer service and a job well done... :thumbs

Probably quite a bit of margin in the key fob, but still a good price.

Talking of keys, I looked at my Mav key tonight, and this is the 2nd of 2 I had originally with the car from new, ( 18 years old) and there is a slight twist in it, so rather than risk it, I had a new one cut, no immobiliser, so easy to sort.

Both the originals still work though, but either could break soon.

I had the same thought a few months back, was still using the original key that came with it (19 years old) so I got two cut, as you say, no immobiliser to worry about, kept one for myself and gave one to my daughter in Spain (she uses the car when we're not there), keeping the original as a spare. What surprised me was that as the original key was really worn, and the replacements followed the worn pattern, that they worked at all - probably the locks are as worn as the key and the car could be opened and started with a screwdriver!

I bet she is stunning, how about a pic Dorn, Rick
Ha boys! don't know how to post pic on the thread errrmmmmmm but there's one on my profile... thanks for the compliment, no just an ordinary lass who likes to get her hands dirty, especially around engines..

Thats really bad.... but good if your stuck in a jam i suppose, so do you always carry a screwdriver around with you?

Ha that's funny but true, yep shes a gorgeous metallic blue.. few little rust spots that can't be sorted but overall sound and I love her to bits.. haven't stopped doing jobs since I got her, fitted some Britax spot lamps last weekend and a remote stick for the CD player, replaced the ropey cigarette lighter and fitted some 100w bulbs. Not alot more to do really but thinking of having the windows tinted :)
