Has anyone fitted tie-down eyes in the boot of their T2?
If so, is there sufficient clearance between the floor and the fuel tank to drill and fit washers and nuts from underneath?
Cheers
Bruce (Terranical)

My lwb terrano comes standard with them...and a bloody good thing they are too:D I think there's enough room, but it'll probably be hard getting the nuts and bolts on because it's hard getting you're hand in between the tank and body. :doh

would nutserts do it? no need to get underneath then.

I have them in the rear of mine and they are useful, but if i were choosing i would have some with a continuous loop rather than just a C shape as a loose strap can come off them. And the could do with being further into the corners of the floor. And the floor is all humps and bumps because of the fittings for the seats no one uses - but then again you can;t have everything :lol

could be strong enough if you had a decent/sturdy part of the floor :thumb2

Thanks guys, had a look underneath, looks like easy access to immediately behind rear seat (my T2's a SWB) which will do me for now, they are only to stop gas bottles rolling around and destroying all the plastic trim.
I've already bought the tie-downs, like these:-

You can use the bolts for the rear seats for the front half.

For the back half you can get to 1-2 of them with nuts. I had to use one rivnut as I could not get at it. Taking off the rear bumper may help too.

I stand propane gas bottles up and tie them to the back of the back seats with luggage straps, one around the bottom seat brackets and one around the head rest arms. I can stand 19k bottles up but need the trailer for 47.

you wouldn't want them flying around in a accident :thumb2

If they are what I think, then my Terrano 2, LWB, appears to have them in from new !

But as mentioned the Hook is only small, but I am sure you can fit a small Shackle to them if required !
