I have a 2.0 2002 Maveric Zetec.
The revs surge and seem to pull you along at 2000rpm, even when you don't have your foot on the accelerator, and when you press the clutch in, to change from 1st to 2nd they surge up to 2000rpm- which is really embarressing when you are stopped at a predestrian crossing, traffic lights etc.
I have done a diagnostic check on it but no fault codes show up,
Has anyone fixed this problem, and what exactly was it? None of the Ford garages seem to know what it is . The MAS has been checked, air hoses checked.TPS checked, and ISCV replaced. If you are going down hill and lift off the revs dont reduce either. At speeds over 40 in 4th/5th its fine but tends to rave. Any suggestions appreciated
