I have had a damp drivers carpet since I bought the car.

I stripped off the scuttle panel and checked all of the drainage areas to find no blockages, as I have no sunroof it must have been coming from elsewhere

I then discovered that where the lower part of the front wing and mudguard meet it was full of mud, I removed the inner wing plastic and mudguards, cleaned them out and replaced.

The carpet is dry now, so I think the dampness must have been capiliarising from this damp pool of mud and into the corner of the door under the plastic trim?

The heater in my car has always been very poor, even with the fan on full very little airflow came out of the vents.
I followed the fix recommended on here (remove the cabin filter) and now I get blown away, my filter was so blocked that it was completely flat and filled with crud on the one side

I noticed a few drops of steering fluid under the car in the last few days. I stripped down and rebuild my steering pump last month because the bearing was noisy. (£4 to replace ;) ) I initially thought maybe it had failed but it was dry around the whole pump assembly on pipes

Again checked this forum and it suggested to check that silly long 10mm ally pipe under the radiator.
It was exactly as others had found, the clamp holding the two pipes to the body had worn a tiny hole in one of the pipes.
12" of fuel pipe and two jubilees later costing £4.43 I had the whole job repaired in less than one hour :clap

Thank you forumers :bow

chap, thats some good work you've done there, nice one!

well done mr t, thats where my previous t2 was damp from.

i believe thats where the sunroof can drain into so worth
checking for those with a sunroof.

Trouble is these cars use the sills to collect water from all over the place regardless of sunroof. Then with all that under wing plastic nonesense mud gets stuck up there and any water doesn't leave the sill :(

wondering if the old capileray action could be cause of moisture in my current
t2, whilst has sunroof dont think carpets are wet atleast not in ihe front.

there was a bit in the boot, and i get the odd drip from the sunroof into the
front seats cornering!

maybe get dehumidifer in car when weather improves.
