I fitted my new battery yesterday, fully charged, terminals tightened, Clamp bolt clamped.
To change the nearside front side lamp bulb you need the battery out to get at the back of the bulb holder. Had a nice LED bulb for the job, fitted.

This morning checked the side lights - nearside one out. It was a 50/50 chance that I would get it right first time, never thought to check it before I closed the hood.

Guess what my first job is this afternoon ?

Haha Russian roulette with LED bulbs :lol

Been there done that and bouht the tshirt :doh:doh

As long as it starts properly on these cold mornings :thumbs

I got so fed up doing that, I started testing the LED's first, and using a red permanent marker, marking the positive, and then either doing the same on the holder, or putting a bit of red insulting tape on the corresponding wire. Makes further changes a lot easier.

I must admit, I have stated to only buy the more expensive LED bulbs where they have a small bridge rectifier built in, so it does not matter which way round you connect them. Not so easy on the tiny ones, but a lot of the larger 12v ones can be used on 12v transformers which give an AC output.

Sorted reverted to normal capless front sideless !

Having lifted the battery in & out about 4 times I have just given up with LED and reverted to Tungsten !!

:lol:lol

Considering pretty much all of the datasheets I have looked at for LED's, say that they last a minimum of 50,000 hours, I have yet to have one on a car last the same time as a good old fashioned Halogen headlamp bulb.
