Thinking I might get through this winter with the existing battery in our Jeep WK I was a bit miffed to find it flat this morning despite being on trickle charge with my Smart charger for the last two days.
Checked the voltage - it was 6.5 volts at the terminals. Replacement battery on its way from Battery Megastore they talked me out of the Bosch at £127 so am having a Hankook 100 Ah 850cca type 019 battery for the sum of £77 delivered tomorrow. Would have had a Yuassa but none in stock again was priced at around £113 if they had any.
I think last nights frost just killed it this morning as a drop from 12.1 to 6.5 volts looks like a dead cell. When I removed the old QH battery this morning I wass tunned to feel how light it was - naff all lead I suspect.
P.S. 4 year warranty - probably worthless !
