I think under a serious pull that box it is bolted to will bend, it is not of the same material that the tow bar is made of, just my thoughts, Rick

Alex, your obsessed with hammerite :lol Hammerite is planned but I've got maintenance that's higher up the list.

Even though it's the factory recovery point I did have some concerns myself but it's actually got fairly large bracing to the chassis Rick. A lot of the Aussie's regularly recover from there (either from the dodgy factory point or beefed up points) and Nissan sold the Trols in some of the Arab states with Nato hitches fitted there from standard.

Refreshed my memory and did some more checking and it seems the most a handful of the Aussie guys using that point for regular heavy snatching have reported is some bulges appearing around the captive nuts but no bending of the crossmember itself.

I don't plan on using it for any snatching if I can get away with it (controlled recovery all the way) and certainly not regularly! :thumb2

Echo some of the words above, I'm not a huge fan of heavy snatching. Winching is a much slower and controlled method of recovery.
