the micro sd card used to record that was a 16gb class 6 ...... seemed to work ok ........and yes I know the time / date is wrong ...ive worked out how to set that now

I have a similar one in each car, but i is difficult to read a reg number of a car that cuts you up.
I find myself giving a verbal description of the car type, and reg number. I do this a least twice, so it is picked up on the audio track.

We have reported cars to the police when we have had suitable footage, once we saw a car under cutting on the Motorway. The police then contacted us, what did we want to be done. We said a stern word in his ear, not necessarily a prosecution, although there was enough evidence.

I must admit, having the camera has changed my driving style, for example, if you are say driving around Silverstone :augie you are careful saying, 95, 96, 98, 100 oh lets see how she goes.... 110, 115 ...:doh

Of course the speedo on the Picasso was set to km/h :augie:augie

It can work against you.

I keep a second card, and swap them after an event, as depending on the resolution, and size of card, it soon wraps around and starts recording over the oldest footage.:doh

even tho the camera is behind the rear view mirror , its still quite low down , so it probably appears im going faster than I actually am .

Lucky you didn't hit the oil slick left behind the LR at 2.57 :lol

one thing I have noticed is that if you are recording a car with LED rear lights , they appear to be flashing on playback .... maybe my settings tho :nenau

Glad you like the camera,
Please send a blow by blow explanation to set the clock/date
I know there are several menus but can't seem to get the right combination.
do you set it in single shot mode or movie or playback

Yes I noticed that, a bit like the old westerns, in the old days, when the wagon wheels appeared to be going backwards.
This is a stroboscopic effect, the LED's are actually pulsed so many times a second, which the eye doesn't normally see, but as the camera is recording at so many frames per second, they cause interference patterns, and so they will appear to be off during some of the frames.:thumb2

Imagine a sequence of numbers, going up in 5's. 0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60,65,70,75.... etc,
Now imagine another sequence of numbers going up in 7's.
0,7,14,21,28,35,42,49,56,63,70 ...etc

These are like pulses per second, and the other say frames per second, then occasionally they will be in synchronisation, ie at 0, 35, 70, again at 105 etc this is when say they will appear to be off.

I hope it makes sense.
I chose low numbers to demonstrate the effect, but the camera might be 20+ frames per second for example.

Now you have had your lesson in sequences, next lesson, Pythagoras.:thumb2

Rustic.

I know there are several menus but can't seem to get the right combination.

its not in single shot mode , as for the time / date , when I remember how I did it I will pm you the details ,

initially I set it for 3 min loop recording , but have now changed that to 10 min loop recording , im not so sure this is a good idea tho as it is quite a big file to upload to my lappy , the options are 3 min / 5 min/10 min , and off .

the time / date can be set without putting it in the car , just by turning it on , but when I remember how I will tell you .

sent a pm how to do it ...... hope it makes sense ..... its quite easy really

hi mate ,

to set the date / time ....

turn the unit on .

press the mode button twice ( you will then see the option time /date )

press the set button

using the up /down arrows on the side of the unit change the numbers ( press set button everytime you wanna move along if that makes sense )

kind regards

pete

Hi, thanks for the feedback, I have messaged the company for more instruction
OK following your instructions I can now change the year but even though it looks right I finish up with 2014/10/28 after setting to 28/01/2014:eek:
One of the films I have has a date of 16/13/2013:doh. Now I know where to set it I will figure it out

No need to copy to your laptop play the file from the camera
Plug the camera into the usb,
Set the camera to Mass Storage, then from the AutoPlay pane select Open folder to view files
Select DCIM, open a folder [I cant figure out the folder name 'yet'] I think there is a different folder made every time it switches on
Windows media player works well as does VLC
At max res 1920x1080 at 24 frames a 10 minute file is around 1.4 gig
My class 4 32 gig card has 18 files approx 10 min long on it, around 3 hours or a little less, there are several smaller files
