I took a trip to Derby earlier & went via the A38. Sat at 60 mph all the way & I couldn't understand why an Artic was slowly catching me :nenau

On the way back I used an App on my phone that tells me my actual speed.
At bang on sixty (according to the truck's speedo) the App it saying 54mph   Bloody hell

At 70 the App reads 64mph. I know most speedos read slightly less, but six miles an hour is a bloody lot :( :(

30 is more respectable at 27mph, which around about right.

Have you checked yours to see how yours fares? What was your results?

Been there, done that and mine reads about the same as yours. One of the reasons I bought the Terrano was to keep my licence.

Mines about Bob on now with the 33" tyres on:thumb2

Yep. Same here. Haven't looked since having 31's on. Would think it's not much difference though:nenau

So clock reading minus 10%.

This seems to be pretty much the same across the cars in our family, V70 D5, Golf IV 2.0l TDI, Fiesta 1.2 Style petrol, and of course the T2 3.0l.

When swmbo picked up a NIP for doing 79mph out by Tadcaster in the V70 and told me she'd been trying to keep it to 70mph. "Well maybe a bit more". You should have seen the look on her face when I told her what the speedo would have been reading for her to have been clocked at 79. Face like a slapped ar$e, or what?

Fortunately, she was able to do a speed awareness course, and we've been driving round in a hearse since :nenau:doh:naughty

Hmmmm. So they're all about the same.

My Monaro is bang on with the phone/satnav (just for the record) & apparently most Monaros & R8's are.
I guess it's an Australian thing :nenau

Again against satnav exactly same as everyone else but personally im happy to trust the speedo and keep the points away. Had a Scenic, a polo and a Roomster which have all been similar which I'm happy to live with.

My T2 consistently is about 10% off (checked with Satnav). Our new Seat Leon is bang on, no more than 2 or 3 km/h difference...

Once you put 35s on the speedo is the wrong side points. 55mph indicated is pretty close to 60 in real time 😲
