What's its capacity?
And also is the 9low)fuel light triggered by the needle on the dash or a float in the tank?

I think it is actually 80Litres, but listed as 76... I know I have got 79 into it on a few occasions.

Again, I am 99% sure, that the low level light is a switch on the sender in the fuel tank. I found what I thought was a "ignition switched live" at the rear of the car, which used to run the rear view camera. Every so often the Camera would stop working, and after a bit of fault finding, I discovered the camera actually stopped working as soon as the low fuel warning light came on.

Cheers Clive, I put 60l in yesterday and wasn't sure how close to empty it was and didn't want to take a chance.
It'd done 360 miles since previous fill but I have had the clocks apart and re-positioned the fuel needle and driven croos country with the new additions to the vehicle height and am looking to see if there's a significant difference in fuel usage. I'll take this tankful down to the warning ligh and see if I get 400 miles on a tank.

I just filled mine up till the pump auto shut off then rounded up to the next pound and put £76 which was 65.12 litres in, and the warning light had not come on.

I have only managed to hit the 400 a few times and every time was a long run driving like I was going to a meeting with the grim reaper.
