Hi guys,

Problem as stated above.....water seeping into car floor, from headlining, through the sunroof........why cut a blasted hole in a perfectly serviceable roof, then not allow it to seal properly?

Anyway, have tried to open said sunroof, only to find that it will lift up, but not roll back. I need to check the drains Etc, but cannot move it enough for this.

Anyone have any idea how I can get it to roll back further.......

Thanks

The way to check the drains is to firstly ensure the rubber tubes have not split or come off (both of mine had). Remove the grab handle (pass side) by levering out the small covers with a small screwdriver to gain access to the screws.
Then remove the sun visor and it's retaining clip.
Pull away the door seal around that area and the corner of the headlining will pull away exposing the drain stubs onto which the rubber drain tubes are a push fit.
If they are still in place try tilting the sunroof and pouring a small amount of water into the area around the drain. It should disappear and reappear behind the mud flap. It it doesn't you may have a blocked tube (can be cleared with a piece of net curtain wire), or you may have an accumulation of mud behind the mud flap which can be hosed away.
Not sure why it won't slide, could be a faulty switch or it could be seized (try placing your hand on the underside of the glass and pushing back while operating the switch)

i think on these you can remove the sun roof switches and trim to expose the motor and there should be a adjuster there that you can move manually most of the time the motors sieze up that s what i had on mine and i fiitted a new sun roof and it was fine i have some complete sunroofs and parts if you need anything

Mine doesn't slide back without help. I reach out and push down on the back of the glass to help it drop and it then slides back on its own but quite slowly.
