Hunted about a bit and found a lot about the long loop pipe that runs damn near the length of the chassis from a union block by the slave cylinder.

As there is some vagueness about it's purpose, I thought some info might be useful:

The primary function of the damper assembly was to reduce noise, apparently.

Got this from my local Nissan mechanic who has several years of Terrano fixing experience. He's now the gent assigned to my rig whenever I drop it in, which is good. But Nissan prices, which is bad.

That would explain why my clutch grumbles a bit now i have removed the damper pipe.

Local garage done the job, it was a simple blanking piece that screwed on to the block where the pipe was removed from.

What sort of grumbling you getting? I've got kids myself so could probably get used to it pretty quick:lol
What issues led you to remove it and is the actual clutch operation any better now/:augie

use the union that holds the pipe in once you cut the pipe off, then use a ball bearing and union to block the hole. :thumbs

Originally removed the pipe because it started to leak badly.
Sounds like a deep rumble sound as the clutch is depressed but only during change ups.
No real difference to the feel of the clutch just this rumbling noise that I have soon gotten used to.
