Hi All
New Boy Here with a problem -
I have a 2003 Terrano 3.0 Diesel Auto with no drive. Fault appears to be within rear axle - Are 2.7 & 3.0 rear axles inter changeable?
Thanks
Nigel

does it move with 4WD engaged? not sure if it should mind, but can't see why it wouldn't....and if it doesn't, it'll be your box......very expensive....

3.0l uses a higher diff ratio so no. Some late models use the C200 axle which isn't as strong though looking at the parts catalogue they are only on 2.7 Manuals so you shouldn't have one. So it would be highly unusual for one of the stronger H233B axles to fail - the same basic axle is on some patrols and small commercial Nissans.

As suggested above have you tried it in 4wd?

Also its more likely that its a half haft that's broken than the actual diff and the good news is these are interchangeable as long as you choose the correct with or without ABS.

Pic to identify axle.
