Am I right in thinking that the wheelbase of the LWB Terrano 2 is 104"?

I need to know before I apply for a Gatescarth pass.

Don't think you'll do it in the LWB T2 pal!!That's if you're allowed on it!!
I could be wrong though!! HB your man to ask!!

Can't remember what the wheel base of a LWB is but its over 100" so too long to get a pass for gatescarth pass, can't be many passes left for this year, my group has all the remaining ones for the september date.

just had a look at the paper manual and it states it as being 104".3 (2,650)

Thanks Mav.

I was thinking of a permit for next year. Might have to do it in my bro's disco instead

If it's a S1 disco you'll be fine as they are 100" IIRC but a S2 Disco is longer 105" IIRC
I'm hoping I'll have enough mods on my T2 by next year to be able to do this lane before they close it for good which I have read is going to sadly happen in time

guys, 100" is max.

i know cos pal, former member and rowo cameraman
got his series 1 modded disco over, just, in company of lr 90s.

have a look on corc site for his write up.

i believe you need a lift and various other goodies
but axle lockers are frowned upon by park authorities.

believe there is a lit of banned motor under the 100"
cut off including rav4s!

I'll let you know in september how a T2/Mav fairs, I'm going so are Bigbluemaverick and Dadba. TBH from what I've heard a lift LWB T2 on muds ould make it as a LWB T2 can easily out turn a Disco and thats what the 100" wheelbase limit is about, unfortunately it was imosed based on landrover turning circles.

Sweety - pretty sure Disco 2 is 100" too, hope so anyway, Neil's down to come too. Disco 3 is 113" however.

quick google bring s2 disco at 2540mm or 100inch

so extra length for forward facing 3rd row seats is
by increased overhang?

anyway thats enough bad language for one post

Hi HB I've just checked the wright up about this lane in 4X4 Mag as they did the lane a few months back & it states the Disco S1 is 100" & can be driven on the lane but the Disco S2(TD5's) late 1999 but def 2000 on is over 100" & is'nt alowed on & they are checking vehicles at the start, on route etc

According to CM you fill in a form stating
intending vehicle and mods.

Sounds like such a good route be worth
walking or cycling if your truck doesnt fit
the bill.

Having recently filled in 3 of these forms they ask for name of driver, registration and wheelbase - thats it. Don't even ask for vehicle type - I assume they get that from DVLA.
