Hi All
My 1999 terrano was running like a dog and I suspected the maf - having replaced it i was amazed by the improvement but i had a dyno run today and it maxed out at 106bhp which is way down on standard. Any ideas on a likely culprit for the missing horses?

Fuel filter, air filter, tappets, injectors, fuel quality, egr valve if you have one, partially blocked exhaust.
The list could go on, but if you haven’t already start with the basics.

thanks jeremy - fuel filter was next on list. changed air filter to k&n induction unit about a fotnight ago so shouldn't be that - if it was tappets would there not be noticeable rattles?

If the tappets are way out they will rattle, but its not to bad a job to check them and should be done periodically anyway, you may find one of those horses under the rocker box. LOL

Was the figure you were given for the BHP at the flywheel or at the road wheels :?: As you will find there is always a big difference between these 2 figures

the figure was at the flywheel - i think I would have been pleased with that figure at the wheels
