Hi guys
Any thoughts on having a terraclean on the trol?

Short term improvement ?

In my experience all these various products have come and gone and some do give an improvement but I never came across any that still give a benefit after a couple of months.

One of the things that was a craze in the 1960's was having a Redex injector fitted to your petrol powered vehicle. The kit comprised of a small container of Redex that you would re-fill this was fitted under the bonnet usually near the bulkhead. On your dashboard you mounted a Redex Button made to look like an extra gauge. The kit included a small union that you fitted into your inlet manifold. A pipe from the inlet manifold was connected to the dash button with another pipe to the Redex container.

As you were driving you would push the button for a few seconds and a big cloud of blue smoke would come from your exhaust as the Redex was sucked from the container into the inlet manifold and thus burnt in the engine. This gave a short boost to your engine that you could benefit from for the whole day!

It was great fun to leave a car behind you in a cloud of blue smoke a bit 007!

Imagine them trying to market that today :O

Add Blue

It's not really the same though, Ad Blue is injected after combsution to neutralise waste gasses to conform to Euro standards :nenau

Yes the comment was meant to be tongue-in-cheek.

Presumably it only operates when the Pre-Cat is up to working temperature otherwise the tail pipe would be spitting out pollutants with added Urea!

I had my merc E55 AMG terracleaned which did help with the emissions for the mot as it was right on the fail point on the previous mot and sailed through on its next one, my trol does feel a little sluggish but that may be down to me as I don’t tend to have a heavy right foot. It just feels I have to boot it to get it to move and I hate ragging it. So thought this may clean it up a bit and give me a better power curve.

I just red line mine every now and again up hill in third, make it work real hard and clear it out, I have a local grade about half mile long, always do it before MOT, Rick
