Temperature problem

I think I have got a problem with the fan, it spins as normal but noise when you rev the engine like a plane setting off! doesn't happen, when I am in traffic temp gauge goes up but radiator is getting hot so I don't think its the thermostat, is there any way to test the radiator can be tested.

They all roar for the first 1/4 mile then go quiet if this isn't the case & it's roaring all of the time i'd say you've got probs with the viscus fan & the only way to fix it is either a new water pump or remove the fan blades & fit an electric fan set up. I replaced a water pump & the fan roared all the time so got a replacement pump under warranty & it was quiet after a 1/4 mile like it should be

That's what mines not doing, so it sounds like the pump is at fault?
