Hi All

I wonder if anyone else has experianced this before and can pre-empt what its potentially going to develop into!!!

Going up a hill this morning on way to work (not the steepest hill in the world but has an gradient to it!) Terrano didnt feel to be coping with it too well, so popped it into 3rd (about 30mph) to get a bit of oomph. Temperature needle dropped to bottom, then shot right back up to near top, then back to where it always sits.

Didnt seem to lose any power at all. I think i only noticed the needle go as i was watching the speed as its speed camera central round there. Im not sure if the lights on the dash went off and on very quickly as well? Car had been on the go for about 35 minutes so was to temperature although i did think it was a little sluggish this morning but it is probably due an oil change and a bit of TLC.

I did splash through a rather impressive puddle this morning, so wonder if i wet the electrics a bit?

Any ideas?

Well it won't be the actual temperature.

It won't be the sensor, as it goes from the bottom to the top then back to normal.

It's intermittant so more likely to be a bad connection.

Does the rev counter play up?

My first thought is the connections on the speedometer console etc.:nenau

temp sensor

its the temp sender on the side of the thermostat mine did this changed the sender all fine now about £30 from nissan or if you have an ac motor factors near you £15
