Hi Guys,

In a state of shock horror and slight confusion here........

Just trying to sort out my reregistration, and had the forms sent back.....again...!

This time cos I didn't send enough moolah........

On calling them, I find that my 2002 3 ltr, is now going to cost me £535.00 / pa to tax........:eek::confused:

Now that it is all calculated on emissions, and mine is 262 g/km hey ho........

I thought its year gave it some exemptions.......obviously not......

Elty,

Used this calculator, but if you notice it does not give the 3 ltr version, only the 2.7 ltr version.

It however gives a higher emission rate than the 3 ltr, so how did the lady in DVLA, using the original registration for this vehicle (with the correct emissions of 262 g/km) come up with £535.00/pa, and class M....?

Okay......very quick update.....the website for DVLA, is not useable.....it is out of date and innaccurate. This is being reported.

Just spoken with DVLA again within the last 2 minutes, and the vehicle tax for a 2002 T2 3 ltr auto is....£535/pa......not great at all, will now have to think very very seriously about keeping this car, as I no longer really need a 4x4, as I'm not in trees or forestry after retiring......

Yours should be capped at the £305 rate see tables.

If your vehicle was first registered before the 23rd March 2006 then you are charged at Band K* as the Bands L & M did not exist at that time. That is definite it is shown on the table I have pasted in the link!!

If you have the V5 just tax it at the Post Office where they should sort it for you. Before the LVLO offices shut I had this issue with vehicles I would tax for work. In one case we were overcharged and the Duty was re-funded some weeks later when the payment was loaded onto the DVLO database.

Thank you guys......yes the confusion reigns supreme in DVLA, they are so very uncordinated.....just spoken AGAIN, and band K* it is, at £305/pa.....

So will call them again next week, speak to the relevant department, and attempt further clarity, and not have to re apply for the third time due to their errors.....gggggrrrrrr (:(:(

Thank goodness, it looks like the tractor (although in retirement like me) will stay......

my 3l was 305 but took me about 5 months to get 1/2 back for pip standard mobility rate, was on 100 % but after reassesing i now get 50% but i now have to send my renewal to dvla not post office.

Might be okay at Post Officer Next Time ?

I believe that once your V5 log book shows the taxation class as Disabled then you can tax it at a post office and/or online. It is just the first time that you are stuck with DVLA when you have to produce your entitlement documentation to get the V5 taxation class changed it's the same with Hackney Carriage.
