Tarting the house up

Morning guys and girls.

So me and the missus are planning a move, its a while away yet, but i plan to do the house up completely atleast visually. There is a few things ive got planned. Clean these old stones using truck wash :lol I tried it on one and it came up amazing! I'm also painting the gate to make her look new.

I am also going to attempt to clean the Tarmac driveway with truck wash, not sure how this will go down :nenau

Anyone got any tips for cleaning driveways? I am going to have a fair amount of the magic truck wash too :lol

It depends on what is making the driveway look grubby.
On Tarmac, I have sprayed on a 25% mix of bleach with 75% water, to get rid of moss, lichen etc.
If there are any oil patches, then it is a difficult one, unless you can sort it on the day, then washing up liquid, some water and a scrubbing brush to get rid of 95% then after some weathering and sunshine the rest faded away.
I learnt this trick every time my Dad used to visit us, there were always 6 areas of oil leaks... Yes it was a Discovery...:doh
6 leaks, two swivel hub bearings, two diffs, engine sump, and gearbox output shaft. You could always know by the pattern, where he parked, and also which way round.:doh

After the bleach treatment, Leave it a few days, then power wash, but not too close as it can damage the surface.

Truck wash, might dissolve the bitumen , resulting in the driveway breaking up.:doh

Aldi, at the moment have a special offer on " Drive Cleaner" £1.49 nearly half price, in our local store, it is in a basket outside the store.
I bought some last week.
Read the label to see how to apply.
If I get chance later, I will read mine.

ahh didnt think about truck wash eating the driveway... hmm.

I put it into a spray bottle so its fine. might try a test area and see how it goes. The bleach idea is a good un too!:thumb2

Binned the scrubber and used a wire wool style brush

I just mainly use the pressure washer but the bleach does get used at times, got a concrete drive & one side gets almost no sun light so it turns green:doh must be using the lance to close as I keep blowing little holes in the concrete:lol TBH think the drive is past it's best anyway as it's getting nice big cracks across it
