T2 headlights

Does anyone know what the black knobs on the back of the T2 square headlights are for? They are marked Open & Close, but I can't shift them!

Back. They're the adjusters I reckon. Once you have them open (use pliers), the whole reflector moves, and you can turn the knob either way.
