Hello, this week I started a new job at a DAF repair place, and they have one of these for me to play with :D:thumbs:D:thumbs

Nice. I could do with something like that at home

I'm just a general duties guy there Rick so no spanners for me, I sweep the floors, tidy up, drive and next week I will be cutting up a 40ft shipping container using oxy acetylene, the container is no good anymore and requires a crane and a road closure to move properly so in the scrap it goes :thumb2
Today I went for some red diesel, 285 litres, the look on the cashiers face as she kept peering out to check on me was priceless :lol

Just to clarify, the first picture is of the steam cleaning facility :D:D:D
The green thing in the background is a generator, the grey thing is the steam cleaner. Inside the blue container is the derv and detergent! When I get back from Wales this month my truck is going to be steam cleaned to within an inch of its life :lol :clap I'm very happy that I can do it properly now, I'm gonna take the bumpers off so I can really give the inside of the chassis rails a right good blast out :thumb2

There is some good kit knocking about! These things are cool, there are six of them, position each under a wheel of whatever vehicle and then link them together with cables so they lift simultaneously, they can lift some big stuff too :thumb2

I am surprised they purchase red derv from a service station, they would get it a lot cheaper if delivered direct, I do like those lift towers, nifty bit of kit, Rick

Good point about the diesel, it gets me a ride out though and that's better than working :D

Agreed, those lifts look great!

Hey Tdoug, get ready for a queue behind you to use that steam clean facility!:thumb2

Good luck in your new job T-Doug. That's a change from plumbing in a boiler!

Cheers mate :thumb2 Still keeping my gas to do jobs for family, friends and cash but it was doing my head in so I made a change, if I put some overtime in its not too much of a drop in money and the basic rate goes up and up :D The best bit is the facilities though :D:D

Its a brave choice to do that, leave your job and start afresh so hats off to you :thumb2

Good luck with the new direction. Much more important to enjoy what you are doing. Does this mean your new employer can hook you up with a truck turbo now? :D

I'm glad this looks like a good job for you. I worked as a technician at the University of Kent at Canterbury, in the Electronics lab, and the equipment we had at our disposal was fantastic, worst thing I did was leave to go to a job with better pay. Seemed right at the time, but hindsight is a very sad thing sometimes. Good luck.
