Hi guys....

Numpty time again......what is the purpose of the small unobtrusive switch on the dash that has a car icon with a cancel image over it.....does it silence/cancel the alarm system ???

Thanks in advance.....:bow

If you press it after you have switched the engine off, but before you open the car doors, it switches off the internal alarm sensors, so if you have to leave a cage of ferrets in the car at a service station, you don't get a call over the tannoy saying that the alarm is going off all the time!!!

If it is the one I think you are talking about, then it is used a lot by me when I leave the dogs in the car, it cancels the internal sensors, you remove the ignition key and press this button till the light flash changes, about 3 or so seconds, then exit and lock the car, the light will now flash at a fast rate indicating it is in non internal sensing mode, Rick

My two Jacks are just the same, thankfully the sounder has been disabled but when I forget or am in a hurry I often see the hazards flashing upon returning to the motor, do not know what your ferrets are like but my jacks cannot get enough car, if I put them in just to go the 500 mtrs to my post box and return they will not get out when I do, as much as to say that is not long enough, so I shut them in for a couple of hours, they are happy then, Rick

For the ferrets, it means exploring new places so the get excited when we load them in, but we have to keep them in a cage in the car, as they get everywhere. Had one disappear up behind the dash ov the Volvo V70, in the early days of having them. The Dash on the V70 is very well fitted, and goes right under and meeds the firewall, so I was very shocked and even more worried when one got behind there. Sometimes, Suz will take one out for a cuddle, and often when they wake up, they stand on Suz's knees, front feet on the dash, looking out the windscreen.

Can be very funny when you pass another car and see the driver do a double take.. :doh

Thank you Rick and Clive.......read, marked, and inwardly digested.....:thumb2
