Any one in this area know where to go off road, is there enough of us to start a little club round here and get out at the weekends? Also some peeps to help out fixing and repairing the damage to the trucks that we do when we go out would be good too.

Mine is in need of some upgrades, just dont know what to do first yet.

Ian Douglas will probably know a few he arranged a weekend laning around nottinghamshire, as far as fixing the trucks goes i believe it's all hands on deck if someone needs help, unless you're at home then its a case of do it yourself unless someone is nearby that can lend you a hand, thees trucks are pretty easy to work on though, i tend to do all my own repairs.

well i'm near j30 M1, on South Yorks/ North East Derbyshire border.

Know Mansfield, used to work for Jonathan James in Shirebrook!

There are lanes, though generally not as frequent as in Derbyshire
Dales and upto the Hope Valley.

As said Ian knows Notts area best, Im up for laning or social, or drive
way mechanics!

Well I am based in Chesterfield so am more than happy to go out Notts or derby way some good lanes in peak district

As most folk have said ians ur man

Just place something in regional section and those interest will reply

hummm, a few of us round here then, Iv been round Chesterfield but not in my own truck so have no idea where we went. Im taking her "Off the road" this week to sort some stuff out with her, then, i hope, lets get dirty :clap

She got a nasty clunking sound on full lock, so im going to rip the running gear apart and replace anything that needs it, im told it could be the CV joint, BUT i think it could be the NSF wheel bearing, dont want to start ordering parts till iv stripped her down a bit.

sounds like steering stops to me, if it's on full lock, easy job to fix have a look in the downloads section, tub of grease and the jobs half done, the other half of the job requires you to get ya hands in the tub of grease lol

If clunking on full lock, steering stops for sure. As Richo says.
I have used waxoyl or grease in the past. 4 stops 2 each side.
They need doing say every 3 months.
No jack required, no tools, a blob of grease on the stops... Sorted.

If you rock the car from side to side and you hear a click, then it may be the anti-roll bar drop links. :thumbs

Im from Kirkby in Ashfield, more than happy to go on another laning day :)

I got the wheels off at the moment, i think i have a front bearing gone too.

It does look like the Steering stops, they really worn down. Going to see if i can get new ones but no found any yet.

Still need to sort this power problem out too. Arrrrrrrrrr

Good News, it was the steering stops, they now have marine grade grease on them.
The wheels are back on and the front brakes have had a good service as they where only working on one side of the calipers.

Any one up for a spin.

keep an eye on heathers day thread if ur up for a outing in peaks:thumbs
