I was thinking of getting the suspention lifted on my t2 and here's some questions

1. Is it expensive to do?

2. How hard is it to do?

3. Will it make the truck unstable when on roads?

4. What's the best hight to do?

5. Will it make much of a differance off road?

6. Will it still be road useable e.g. Still pass MOTs?

7. Is there anything else to do?

Sorry if my questions are strange, I'm thinking of giving it a lift for off roading:naughty

I was thinking of getting the suspention lifted on my t2 and here's some questions

1. Is it expensive to do? Rather depends on what you do, could look at longer rear springs and reindexing the front torsion bars to gain 2", so cot would be rear springs

2. How hard is it to do? Not done it but plenty here have, Adz, Extreme, & Make it Fit for starters, good set of tools and and pal or two should have it sorted.

3. Will it make the truck unstable when on roads?Could do as raising centre of gravity, suggest leave anti roll bars on to help.

4. What's the best hight to do? Suspension is good for 2 ", could do a body lift of same.

5. Will it make much of a differance off road? Combined with bigger tyres of course, if can gain more articulation on rear then be better on extreme ground, though re indexing front end will reduce some its travel.

6. Will it still be road useable e.g. Still pass MOTs? Done properly, sure, though will need to inform insurer, they might want an engineers report.

7. Is there anything else to do?plenty of pictures, i'd suggest seeing how far you get with stock truck first though after all Nissan plouoghed millions into its development. The t2/r20/mav is one of most underated trucks off road. yet with its LSD rear rend can keep up with stock landrovers for the most part. Start by making sure theres nothing on truck to hamper performance, like bull bar side steps or towbar, get some decent tyres at2 and see how stuck you get, then work out a plan.

Thanks for the info. I will probably give it a bit of a lift. I've got a set of 1994 maverick glx 6 spoke alloys that I want to put big chunky tires on for offroad use and the alloys that are on the t2 now will have the road tires on for on road use:D
