Guys what effect would a poly bush panhard kit do for the truck ?

Also how difficult is it to remove steering relay bar from the steering box and steering idler ?

When replacing all the steering components do I have to change the idler or the passenger side as well ?

Poly bush panhard bushes pointless.
Relay bar rod thing just undo the ball joints and give it a proper twat with a hammer and pings off :D
Idler is just poo anyway, bin it and put another steering box on cut down to suit. Did you read the link I put up on the steering upgrade?

.

Hi Pete yep had a read mate with regards to the steering box on the pass side what's the crack with cutting it ?

And for the joints you make up how much would the whole set up cost ?

Are you still making them ??

I don't do loads of off reading and when I do it's not extreme but the steering on mine has never been changed since the truck was put together

I like the idea of the steering box on the pass side but can't get my head round how it works ?

i've got this mod and its very good :naughty the steering box basically acts as a monster idler

.

How do the physics of it work ?

So I get a steering box and then cut it apart ?

If so where ?

What bout makeitfits mod have you got that too Or just the standard steering relay and standard track rods ??

i've got makeitfits steering relay but just standard trackrod ends

The steering box is just cut as my pics. Empty the oil out first though :lol
If you can drive a grinder you can do it. Just ideally need a good vice or workmate will do it. About 3 or 4 cutting discs and some tea and plasters and job done :augie
The geometry stays the same as it's just the drag link that sets the distance apart if you see what I mean.
I did do a steering idler strengthening bracket a few years back but that cost the same as a s/h steering box.

Pete I still have your idler bracket. I didn't use it in the end. You can sell it to nik.

Also I am after your steering mod, I will Pm you later at lunchtime.

Cool beans :thumbs There you go Nik things are on the up already :sly

Hi Pete is the one fez got for sale the steering box mod cut and ready to go ??

No it's one of these extra support brackets to beef up the gay steering idler. Could be ideal for your occasional greenlane trips. :D

Send Fez a PM and buy it off him.
However if your drag link is shot then you might as well buy one of my kits, but remember it's development bit of kit. Tell your insurance company and you'll need to maintain it yourself regularly. Back yard design didn'y have Nissan's billions of RnD :augie

.

Hi Pete how much is one of your kits and what does it consist of ?

What would I need to get my end ?? I'm off hip to Ruthin at the end of the month and just had my tracking checked and it's 10 degrees out on the near side !!

Modified drag link and steering arms £120 plus post. You'll need to send me an old drag link and a couple of steering arms. I'll then get the steering arms welded up and the drag link drilled out for the bolts and supply them.
You'll need to get hold of an old steering box and cut that up , just look at my pics.
If you're stuck for old bits, I'll get them and you send me your old bits when you've fitted the new kit. Exchange like :D Keeps the down time down :lol

.

Hi Pete imfeeling dense today so I will be a modified drag link that's the one that runs from steering box to idler ?

What bout the track rods ?

There is a maverick in the local scrap yard and I think I can grab the steering box of that

So what I'll get from you minus the steering box will be everything I need to do the conversion then I send you back my drag link bar and what else ?
