Morning all,

I'm just in the process of putting my 1996 T2 back on the road. Had a wee drive and I'd forgotten just quite how much it rolled! Any suggestions for stopping this? Stiffer springs etc?

Also is there any huge advantage on putting wheel spacers in?

Many thanks, and please be gentle!! lol

Alec.

Hi Mate

Check the front wishbones and make sure that the anti roll bar links are in good shape!!!! If they are not the car will roll around like a ship and actually feels like it could go over at some points

As for stiffer springs I can't recall ever seeing any available, my +2" lift springs seem to be a bit firmer :thumb2

The general consensus on wheel spacers apart from aesthetics is to steer clear of them as they are a weak point, was talking to a guy who owned a 2.6TD Trayback Patrol on the weekend when I was getting my new tyres fitted to my new wheels and he said he has ripped 2 studs out before due to spacers

Have to state the obvious...
Make sure both ends of the anti roll bar front and rear are actually connected.
Also that the tyre pressures are as per spec.
In addition to what has been mentioned.

cheers for that, I'll have a quick check of the ARB, drop links etc when i get home tonight.

I asked about the spacers as I've seen some advertised but they're aluminium, I didn't think they would have the strength to withstand the power going through them.

Don't bother with spacers for a road going motor, Horrible cheap things.

So that's 2 people saying don't fit the spacers.

ergo not going to happen.

Cheers guys.

I run spacers on my non Nissan but don't like them, it bothers me as they can crack so I have other wider wheels to go on.. I wouldn't fit them...

Milner off road do a standard length rear spring that is 20% stronger, have a look on their web-site.:thumb2

Yep ta, had a look at those earlier.

Just posted somewhere on this site about getting a PIN number so i can get the discount on there.

Anyone got any gen on that at all?

Don't use spacers. Spend only a few quid more and you can have high offset steels :D

Don't think I'll bother with the wheel spaces the as the general consensus is that they're not very good.

As to looking at the ARB, drop links etc, I had a quick look last night and the drop links are completely shot.

So shot in fact that one side is completely detached and the other side the rubber is absolutely perished.

should be fun changing those!!!
