superwinch x3 wiring issues pls help

hi guys just fitted a superwinch x3 which i was given a while ago but im having issues with the wiring.

ive got 2 leads pos and neg but i dont know which way round to connect them as all the leads are black

is it a case of trial and error connect one way then the other if it doesnt work ?

or will this damage the winch ?

it has 2 solenoids when i remove the case but i cant find any info on the net
about the winch.

also what sort of wattage isolater switch should i use ?

im also thinking of introducing a split charge system eventually to help the battery cope
but in the mean time will my battery be ok as long as the engine is running whilst using it ?

if the isolater switch is off when not using the winch wont damage the battery life will it ?

any help or advise would be great guys

I've only one battery and have had no issues running my 12,000 lb winch both with the engine running and not:thumb2
