Hi there, just been sat in a wet drivers seat.
Are leaky sunroofs common?

What are the common faults to look for, in addition to not closing it properly?

There is a little bit of corrosion on the metal under the glass in the corners. I guess its a job for some mastic.

Have a look at the drains in the corners, they may be blocked with crud

Hi,
I have just finished cleaning out the drain pipes from the corners of the sun roof ,from top to bottom.on my Maverick R Reg 4x4 .It wasn't crud in the corners but ,down the rubber tubes. very easy to access .remove sun shields pull off door seals at top and exposes the catch point and tube. Then at the bottom of the passenger or drivers area take off the plastic panel.
One self tapper hold this in place. This exposes the lower end of the tube,it just pulls out as it is in the sill. then you can stick a wire up it or down it or as I,did shoved the air line on
It and there you are. A lot easier than I thought. Problem solved.

swanny.

yeah had to sit on a plastic bag a few times!

get drips from the inner frame, which is reduced if close the blind.

must check, my drains, gather theres a rear pair too, that run down
the c pillar to rear arches.

mine also leaks in to boot area, rear door seal, have played with it
but cant cure, taken to having a moisture trap in car, gets very
misty in winter, even ices up on inside.

If the metal frame is rusty around the glass then take out glass take off the rubber seal that goes round glass and re seal with silicone put rubber seal back on when silicone is stilk wet leave it to dry then put back on did this to mine 3 to 4 years ago and still nice and dry:thumbs

Could you not just blow back up the tube?

I think I have this issue which is why my car always smells so musty, I've noticed by sunroof cover had damp patches earlier when we had a little downpour

My windows have been misting up real bad too!!!!
