We were camping in Newcastle Emlyn and decided to head north and do Soar-y-Mynydd and Strata Florida.
The weather was not nice but we all enjoyed our day.
My wife has only ever been laning with me once before when we did a few easy lanes out near Ashbourne, she really enjoyed these 2 lanes though.
My mate Simon had never been greenlaning before and he was so thrilled with the day as were his wife and kids.
Our day ended as we met with my parents at the 'New Inn', Llanddewi Brefi, for a meal and pint or 3.
Some pics can be found
Best part of the hols though was trying to leave a very sodden field, towing fully loaded trailers as we attempted to come home yesterday.
I put the Terra in 'low' and pulled through the muddy ruts and onto solid ground no problems. Next thing somones shouting me to tell me that Simon was stuck and sure enough he couldnt move in the mud. He'd pulled away in 'high' range and as he hit the muddiest patch his wheels started to spin, he tried to get 'low' range but fluffed it and lost all momentum..
A crowd was gathering to see him stuck, all offering various words of advice but the best bit was that I recovered him with my Terra.
I reversed up to him and put on the tow rope between both towbars. 2nd gear low range and without a hint of wheelspin i dragged him out of the mud and onto firmer grass. Unfortunately the camera was packed away so I've got no pics but I shall 'rub it in' that my Nissan recovered a Disco.http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/mrnejones/StrataFlorida5thAugust2008
