strange oil leak on top of engine (picture link included)

I've just noticed this today (shows how often I open the bonnet ?)

any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it and more importantly is it serious ?

second thing I can't seem to find the EGR valve on this beast even after looking at the workshop piccies any pointers ?

Yip I had the same problem :roll: it's the oil ring seal on the breather trap, if you remove the 10mm(I think) bolt at the side the breather will slide out of the alloy housing so you can get to the O ring :smile: I just cleaned all of the oil off it & wrapped PTF tape around the O ring & the tube part to make a snug fit & haven't had a problem since but you should be able to buy just the O ring if you want to replace it :smile:

No there is a bolt to the side of the breather (the thing covered in oil) in your pic if you undo it & remove it the breather will slide out towards the n/s wing away from the engine & at the end of it you should find a small rubber O ring :smile:

ahhh I've just been out in the dark with a million candle power torch savaged by midges and I've found it !! thanks

Not all Terrano/Mav's have an EGR. Mines didn't.
