steering wheel replacement

im after changing my steering wheel on my terrano as the leather cover has started to split was wondering is it a job you can tackle yourself or should you take it to nissan any help would be apreciated

Mine did the same but I found it easier to get a leather steering wheel cover kit from Halfords. Came with nylon to bind/stitch it on. Easier and cheaper than replacing the wheel.

don't know if it's the same but last time I changed a steering wheel (mg midget) I broke my nose.
Leave the nut on the shaft until the wheel has broken free of it's grip on the column.
