My recently acquired Hyundai Santa Clause has a very small drip from the steering rack. We are talking very small patch overnight but not every night.

Dealer wants £1295 to supply and fit a rack - parts being around £470 for genuine article.

If I replace the rack I will probably go for a decent re-conditioned rack but when I had an old Carlton many years ago I used some aftermarket PAS stop leak and it worked for almost 2 years.

Anyone used the Lucas product its on e-bay at around £10.50 for 12 ozs ?

I'd buy that and see how it goes. Doesn't sound to be a bad leak. I've never needed to use a product like that but I would try it first before spending £hundreds on a rack

Steering Stop Leak

Well during the break in the rain I have drained the steering fluid out of the reservoir and added the magic fluid.

Drove the vehicle round a local roundabout a couple of times and some lock to lock turns at Tesco parked it back on the driveway with sheet of cardboard underneath and now 4 hours or so later not a drip !

I will post again if it gets to 12 months without further leaks.
