yes this is shamefull! what messsage to it send out to any young people thinking of joining up to servein future?

And it is a know number of people, bear in mind all of them may not want to retire here anyway and a shrinking group as no one lives for ever, and there will never be any more gurkha's who retired before 1997 will there?

so we ought to play fair and let them come!

This is one that really really pisses me off

It was bad enough not allowing them a decent pension, now it seems almost vindictive pay back from our stupid government to hit them in another way.

Brown and co should realise the Gurkhas are our friends. This country needs to consolidate its friends not piss them off :banghead

corss reference this to the 'racist' thread where 'ragheads' are being insulted and then think of the Sikh soldiers who have served and died, it makes you realise how injustice like this can happen with such double standards!
