Have you taken them out of the packet:lol:lol

I've fitted the new style bendy ones as mine were right noisy. They've been great.

You could try twisting the wiper arm a touch so the blade isn't at 90 degrees to the glass. I used 2 adjustable spanners. :nenau

Sorry to be blunt but it could just be poor quality wiper blades?

It can also be the wiper pivots, the things that stick out of the plastic trim below windscreen that the arms fasten to. I used to have that, removed wiper arm and got some spray grease and squirted it around pivot. The grease ran down inside the pivot and stopped the noise.

I'd be concerned about scratching the windscreen... :lol
With Jim on this one as it's more than likely the quality of blade.

They where the expensive ones suppost to be one of the best :lol.i will get a pic of them there big and bulky things but they make that much noise I had to stop driving yesterday until it stopped raining :lol

I agree, over time the arm gets a twist on it, look at the arm without the blade on it, it should be parallel to the glass, if not, as suggested, twist the blade with two adjustable spanners.

90% chance that will sort it, but slip with your spanners and you could crack the screen, so not without risk.

Where the wiper arm attaches to the truck on the thread into the scuttle panel, take hold of it and move it up and down (towards roof and down towards bonnet) if there is any play in these joints you can bet that's your issue.

I've just replaced my whole linkage due to this exact problem, it's bliss when your wipers are silent

wipers

after nearly 2 years of torment and trying different things i eventually oiled the splined bit that the wiper arms bolt onto and it cured it almost instantly something must corrode down there causing the arms to judder

As above, mine drove me nuts, and like you, one day it got so bad, I had to stop driving until the rain had died down, and I could just wipe the window every few mins. I took the wiper arms off, and then the covers under the wiper, and flooded it with liquid grease and WD40, been fine for the last 2 years.

Try cleaning the screen and wipers with something like rain-x it makes the water bead off and the wipers have a smoother surface to wipe over.

Good point, :thumb2
I bet after a few years the windscreen is so pitted with chips and scratches, it will be like a peble dashed wall, and will probably wear down the blades quite quickly.
The rainX will help to fill those scratches, and you won't need to run the wipers as often.
Worth a try, we use it on the boat windscreen too. :thumb2

Fold a small square of wet & dry abrasive in half and run along each blade with the blade in the fold.
This'll cut through the oily manufacturing residues on each rubber blade.
They'll go from shiny to dull and help to lose your squeak.
De-bug your screen from those Kamikaze insects too..:thumb2

Noisy wipers on my Jeep too!

I have a very noisy drivers side wiper blade. Changed the blade, cleaned the screen with Meths etc, etc.

Going to try lubricating the links having read this post as the noise start on the return downwards sweep.

Just noticed that the point on the wiper arms where the arm hinges outwards to lift them off the screen is about 3 inches up from drive shaft. The fulcrum pin looks well rusted. Might be worth trying a new arm.

wd40 the windscreen:lol:lol:lol:lol
that will get rid of the squeak:lol:lol:lol:lol

Rain-X

Try cleaning the screen and wipers with something like rain-x it makes the water bead off and the wipers have a smoother surface to wipe over.

Only trouble with Rain-X is the light misting you get on the blade wipe but it's great if you are on the motorway as above 50 you don't need your wipers on at all!

Lubed the linkage on the Jeep - all good at the moment!

after nearly 2 years of torment and trying different things i eventually oiled the splined bit that the wiper arms bolt onto and it cured it almost instantly something must corrode down there causing the arms to judder

Tried this today by squirting some 3in1 aerosol oil onto the drive shafts and links and all is squeak and judder free !

I hope it lasts.

What:nenau
You've never tried this??
:lol:lol

:lol I've had oil spray over my visor when racing a power boat a few years back. One minute good, then it was like looking through a frosted window. Had to flip the visor up. You can imagine what I looked like after the race:lol
