Air con re gassed today and very cold it is but on the way home the pump started to squeek. Now when I turn on the AC it squeals for a second and then back to the squeek ;O(

Gave the pump pully a good spray of WD40 and it seems to have gone ;O)

Do you think that's it ?

Not run it for years so maybe its just dried up ;O)

i agree, because its not been used for a while, the extra pressure from the A/C demand will be putting more pressure on the belt. As Jim says, if it comes back, just change the belt...

Run it a few times today with no noise at all . Going away at the end of the week so will take a spare belt with me.

Belt squeaking or the compressor itself?

Presumably whoever gased it did so with some fresh oil too ?

Yes fresh oil added, noise from compressor seems to have gone away so looks like it just needed lubricating ;O)

She Who Must Be Obeyed tells me my Maverick sounds like a hamster is in it's wheel when coming down the road, WD 40 on the power steering belt quietens it down but a new belt is the only solution for my peace of mind, until then I tell her if she can hear me arriving, there's no excuse for not having the kettle on .
