squeak!!!!

usless japanese s**t, that's what my dad says my truck is probably because it's squeaking from the front, a friend and i have traced it to be coming from the steering box, not ball joints, is the box buggered or is there a grease nipple or somthing?

Could be the fan belt, sometimes my power steering pump seems to make a mechanical chatter... Sounds like cha. cha. cha. ...

I thought the pump had gone, so I carefully poured a cup of water over the belt and the squeek went away for quite a long time. Some people try wd40 on the belt, others say NO ! But works for me.
I've had the truck 17 years, so I must be doing something right.

hav done some more searching, and the squeak happens when you turn from lock to lock also its constant when driving, its coming from where the steering centre rod and track rod conect

rustic, it happens even when engines off

got some help from dad and he thinks its either the top or bottom ball joint

Check your front drop links, I was getting a squeak from my front end and it turned out to be one of the drop links had failed at the ball joint end:thumbs
