At long last got round to joining up.
As promised in the newbie section I'm going to be driving you lot mad with daft questions.
As I'm laid up at home for a couple of days, it could be an avalanche of questions, and could be the first to be given me 12 euros back and told to f%&k off :naughty
Have a 89 Terrano 2.4 and we are planning on doing the http://marocchallenge.eu/
The truck is used for shopping & sometimes as a plumbing van.
I would like to raise it to the max, but would have to then get a engineers certificate to get it through the Spainish mot & is not worth the cost or aggro.
I would get away with a 30 to 40mm lift.
So, any ideas on strength & height of springs and shocks, cost and sites to buy please.
Muchas Ta's
Clive.

Morning dude, you'll want to speak with solarman, he loves those engines and have a vast amount of knowledge, he will be on but is quite a busy bunny during the day :thumb2

Welcome and ask away, it's usually my job to ask the daft questions

For overlanding dont go too big as it will make the vehicle less reliable.

Thanks for the advice about height and tyres.
Just looked at the ones for in the for sale section and looks the part.
Just one more thought, will be traveling with two people, camping gear, food and spares, So are stock springs man enough or should I get stiffer ones!!!:lol

The standard shocks are ok, depends what you need to do, I removed rear anti roll bars, rear wheels can travel much further :thumb2

A suspension lift is quite easy and might help smidge too:thumb2

Simplest thing would be to do a 40mm body lift. Keeps your CofG low and clearance for the wheels/tyres. No big expense in shocks and springs then either. Body lift kit all of 60 quid, job done :D
