i personally wouldn't bother with spring spacers. Your better off spending the money on a body lift if you want to put bigger tyres on.

All what he said is false except it might be hard for some people if they have short stubby legs to get into it.

had this debate on facebook yesterday:lol:lol but a body lift won't stop the truck grounding out

and a spring lift wont help much either as your diff will still be the same height

i think i'm going to scrap the idea at the moment, if anything, bigger tires would probably be better, is the suspension standard on you're truck?

I've got disco 1 rear dislocation cones coming (should be here tomorrow ) these give 1.5" and will help when i get longer shocks

Also going for 50mm body lift i think, if i can figure out how to sort rear bumper

I run standard springs at the moment. But longer shocks and no anti roll bars.

The only way to reduce grounding out is bigger tyrse , fact.
Then you've got two ways to achieve decent tyre sizes. Body lift= quick and cheap, but does not help any with articulation.
To get more articulation/flex you need longer shocks at the back, and undo the arb. Costs more though.
So a couple of spring spacers will lift the arse end up ofcourse, then just wind up the torsion bars to match. Bull about mot :lol is your dad short :sly
Longer shocks will be about 40 quid each plus post.

Cheers. Will do my research. No my dad ain't that short. Just seems to find something wrong with anything I do  what's the best make of shocks?

It is YOUR truck isn't it ? :lol Do what you like to it if you got the dosh and insurance, go for it :sly
Best shocks probably cost more than your trucks worth :lol so go for some £40 jobs from Rough Country, like I sell :lol

Yup, it is my truck, it's just dad hates me modding it, so he seems to try and stop me he thinks vehicles should be left the way They come out the factory:rolleyes:. That ain't gonna happen though:sly. He's into his racing, I'm into my 4x4ing, he's got the Solway car club, I've got the Nissan 4x4 owners club, you can probably see where this is going:augie:lol. He wanted me to advertise the Solway car club on my truck I said, only if I can put Nissan 4x4 owners club on ya rally car:lol

If I got longer shocks, would it just be a straight swap? And id gain more flex?

Yes but take ARB off too. You may need to anchor your springs incase they dislocate though.

Was gonna say, the main reason I started all this rambing about increasing hight was to fit bigger tires and get more articulation. If I start with the cheapest which seems to be the lift kit stinka found, I could at least fit some 31s in :nenau

body lift helps articulation when when you have longer shocks and no arb as the wheel can go up more.

If I get a body lift and longer shocks I could put bigger tires on and get more articulation. Also remove the arb. Reason I ask all these questions, is I don't want to buy the wrong things:doh

depends on what you want to do really.

I'd just start slow, a good set of tyres will help massively. you can fit 30s on without mods, you should be able to pick up a set of 30" mud terrains 2nd hand on ebay for £100-150.

Thats what I ran on my truck for a long time and worked well.
